A crew of hard-working volunteers from Alcoa Warrick Operations spent October 16, 2009, creating a therapeutic garden area at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center in Evansville. Alcoa generously provided a monetary grant to cover the cost of supplies.
Despite a cold rain throughout most of the day, the volunteers enthusiastically labored outdoors. They spent several hours measuring, sawing, and nailing to build raised planters from treated lumber, creating wheelchair-accessible gardening beds. The project will benefit clients of ASPIRE, the Center’s day program for adults with severe multiple developmental disabilities. |
