THANK YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL 2013 TELETHON!
36th annual event raised record $1,028,420!

The 36th annual Easter Seals Telethon ended at 6 p.m. Sun., April 14, 2013, with a record-setting "final tote" on the Ritzy’s Tote Board of $1,028,420. All proceeds will fund physical, occupational and speech therapy for tri-state children and adults with disabilities who couldn’t otherwise afford those services.

The Telethon aired live on WEHT Local from the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center.  WEHT Local is the only station in the U.S. donating 100% of production and air time costs for a local Easter Seals Telethon.  For the first time, the final hour of the show was also simulcast on Local 7 WTVW.

Among many individuals featured on the show were local Easter Seals Youth Representative Kamree Anderson and Adult Representative Craig Doninger, both of Evansville.  Viewers also saw video success stories created and donated by “Direction by Newman” in cooperation with WEHT Local and Local 7 WTVW.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke appeared on the broadcast to proclaim April 14, 2013, as “Easter Seals Day” in the City of Evansville.  The following individuals and organizations appearing on the show received Easter Seals Mayor’s Awards for their exceptional support of tri-state children and adults with disabilities: Wesselman’s Supermarkets, Old National Bank, Townsquare Media, Evansville Courier & Press, St. Mary’s Health System, Evansville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 73, South Central Media, T.J. Maxx, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, Kemper CPA Group, Team J-Man Gives, Phi Gamma Delta, NECA, IBEW Local 16, JATC, Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center staff, G.D. Ritzy’s, Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons, E’ville Iron Street Rod Club, and WEHT Local/Local 7 WTVW.

The 2013 Telethon was dedicated to Genevieve Bootz, a generous longtime supporter of Easter Seals.  Mrs. Bootz passed away in January 2013.
